Hello, my name is Ryan Smith, and I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and the proud owner of Ahana ABA. I started this practice with a clear vision: to provide compassionate, individualized therapy that empowers children on the autism spectrum to reach their fullest potential.
My passion lies in creating meaningful, lasting change for children and their families. I believe every child deserves therapy that not only builds skills, but also nurtures confidence, independence, and joy in daily life. At Ahana, I am dedicated to developing programs that are tailored to each child’s unique strengths, while supporting families every step of the way.
Through a commitment to evidence-based practices, collaboration, and genuine care, my goal is to help children and adults thrive in their homes, schools, and communities.
Self Determination Program (SDP)
Service for Adults
Ahana ABA provides comprehensive BCBA-only services, including supervision for DSP staff and caregivers, parent and caregiver training, assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), progress reports, and more.
Our BCBAs specialize in supporting individuals who exhibit high-intensity behaviors and offer expert guidance, oversight, and individualized behavior strategies. Under this program, Ahana ABA serves adults and families in person throughout the greater Sacramento area and, when appropriate, provides services across California via telehealth. Our approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and designed to promote safety, skill development, and meaningful long-term progress.
Parent LED ABA
Ahana ABA offers Parent-Led ABA delivered entirely by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. In this model, the BCBA assesses the child’s needs, designs individualized behavior and skill-building programs, and provides direct coaching so parents can confidently implement strategies at home and in the community. This approach empowers families, strengthens daily routines, and supports meaningful progress in communication, behavior reduction, self-regulation, and independence.
Parent-Led ABA is ideal for families seeking BCBA-only services and for Self-Determination Program participants who want a flexible, collaborative, and evidence-based model focused on long-term success.
Direct 1:1 Treatment
Ahana ABA provides individualized 1:1 services delivered directly by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, ensuring high-quality, expert-led intervention for every session.
The BCBA conducts assessment, develops the treatment plan, and works hands-on with the child to target communication, behavior reduction, self-regulation, and daily living skills. In addition to direct support, we offer structured parent training to help caregivers confidently apply strategies at home and in the community. This collaborative, BCBA-only model promotes consistency, empowerment, and meaningful progress across all environments.
